Massed Bands at the 2011 Festival

The Kearsarge Community Band  invites you to the Third Annual Festival of New Hampshire Community Bands, which will feature seven bands joining the KCB to present short concerts throughout the day starting at 10:00 am.  At 4:00 pm all of the bands will join our guest conductor Max Culpepper in a huge massed bands extravaganza to play three pieces, including Sousa’s “Semper Fidelis.”

Each band has an interesting history and wide-ranging talents and skills.  Community bands are made up of volunteers who play not for money or recognition but for the sheer enjoyment of making music together.  As a result, directors of community bands are always helping each other with music, scheduling, and even musicians.  A festival such as this one is another manifestation of this cooperation and friendship.

• 12:15 — Carter Mountain Brass Band
• 1:00  — Kearsarge Community Band
• 1:45  — Seacoast Wind Ensemble
• 2:30  — Nelson Town Band
• 3:15  — Windham Concert Band
• 4:00  — Massed Bands
